That is THE question, right?
Facts first
Weight loss is about pulling excess body fat out of your fat cells and burning it for fuel. When that happens, your fat cells shrink, and you lose pounds and inches.
The reality is that when you step on a scale, the number you see is not just reflective of your body fat. It is also showing the weight of your muscles, bones, organs, fluids, glycogen and the waste inside your digestive tract that you haven’t eliminated yet.
If you step on a scale every day, any change you see from the day before is mostly due to fluctuations in the amount of water, and waste in your body, which are constantly shifting.
Truth is, losing actual body fat requires creating a calorie deficit, and those results take much longer to show up on a scale. When it comes to weight loss, it’s all about the math. You simply must burn off more calories than you consume.
Here's the not-so-secret formula: 3,500 calories = 1 pound of fat. If you create a calorie deficit of 500 calories per day, in 7 days, you would have lost 1 pound.
Cleansing creates a calorie deficit
Our RESET CORE cleanse provides 1,000 calories per day. Our MASTER cleanse, even less calories (only 680 calories, which can be challenging and the reason why we usually recommend it to Advanced Cleansers only).
So, the real question is not whether you'd lose weight or not, but how much of your fat (let's call it "unwanted weight") will be burned? Oh, that is a trickier one. It will depend on how many days you do and the calorie deficit per day based on your normal consumption and physical activity.
It's a jumpstart
The key takeaway here is this: you'll see changes on your scale during a cleanse, but to make them last longer you have to adopt new eating/lifestyle habits.
In the end, we are strong proponents that the best way to achieve sustainable weight loss is through long-term healthy and balanced diet -including cleansing at least every other month- and consistent exercise.
